Animal ID: 16-07-00220Sadie (female)

Greyhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Sadie is a beautiful American Staffordshire Terrier, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Greyhound mix (or so we think). Sadie was found in a local park with a very tight collar around her neck, and she was thin as though malnourished. I don't think the first 1-2 years of her life were very good. I've had her almost 3 years. She's gone through training with the Greenville Dog Wizard and knows all her basic commands. She loves to please and is an obedient girl. She is house trained and will gladly sleep in a crate. She does come with her own comfy bed. She absolutely LOVES to take walks and play fetch. She loves her tennis ball. I have another dog ... (Read More)as well that I had before I found Sadie. I started my own business in 2014, and it has really begun to grow in the past year to the point that I simply feel I don't have enough time to devote to each dog to give them the exercise and attention they deserve. I need to find Sadie a good home. Since she's had training with Greenville Dog Wizard, you are able to get a refresher session to know how to use the e-collar if you don't know how, and to go over the basics with Sadie. Tony is great and always happy to give good information. Sadie does need someone experienced with dogs. Someone who knows how to be the pack leader. People that she knows she is super affectionate with, but strangers she's a little wary of and needs someone who can work with her to help her learn to trust others more easily. I would recommend that she not be in a home with small children, but older children should be ok. She is truly a 60 lb lap dog and will gladly climb into your lap if you let her. She loves hugs and affection. She is very loyal and eager to please. Her fur is the softest fur I have ever felt and has those beautiful amber eyes. She loves to play fetch and is very athletic and strong. If you enjoy walking or running every day, she would love that. I would like to see her with someone that has a nice yard or farm where she can run, play and roam. She loves to be outside, but she's also a bit of a princess, and if too hot or too cold outside, she's all about being indoors. Plus, she enjoys being near her human(s). It would probably be best if she is the only household dog. If you're very experienced with dogs, she might be fine to have a sibling. Please contact me today if you're interested in Sadie or for more photos and information. Her adoption fee is mainly to insure she goes to a good home. She'll come with her own bed and food bowl along with some treats she loves. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Greyhound in South Carolina
Greyhound Dogs can make good pets in South Carolina if they match your IifestyIe. The Greyhound is a reserved, elegant, intelligent breed. Greyhounds are gentle, sweet companions that can be a joy to own. Greyhounds are excellent choices for adoption as adults; former racers are already crate trained and easy to housebreak, and this dog adapts well to new owners. Greyhounds have a strong chasing instinct and should not typically be trusted with non-canine animals. Greyhounds do well with older, considerate children. They do not like to be teased. A Greyhound can live in an apartment and may even behave lazily indoors, but does need daily exercise. Greyhounds are sensitive to extreme cold and should wear a coat outside in the winter.
