Personality: Very High Energy, Somewhat Dominant
Health: Vaccinations Current

My name is Milo, I love exploring and sniffing around in the woods. A perfect day for me is some quality exploring and thinking then good cuddle time with my human. Because I'm so smart and have a bunch of energy, I feel much more relaxed when I have a routine. I get anxious when I don't get to think and exercise. My life hasn't been the greatest. When I was just a pup I got adopted but when I grew to be a big boy the lady who adopted me decided she didn't think I was so cute anymore. I was locked in the basement most of the time, with not much attention or time to hang out with humans or dogs. Now when I see other dogs I get ... (Read More)worried that they are going to take my place. I would really love someone or some people that love to explore as much as me, with only me, so I can show them how grateful I am! After about two years in the basement and going to a place for a long time that was really stressful with lots of other dogs and noise, I think they call it boarding, I got a home! I'm just so handsome I got a new dad and his girlfriend. They loved me! It was great for awhile, but dad had some bad things happen in his life and recently I was left alone a lot. I did not like that at all, I think I had already been ignored way too much when I was just a pup. Now dad is gone and can't have me where he is. Mom has arranged for me to stay with her for a couple weeks and its been great! I feel so much better when I know I am not going to get ignored and forgotten about. Did I mention I'm really smart? I love learning and thinking, and mom says I could probably learn a job! Mom travels a lot for work so she said she can't keep me. She is really sad about this and wants to make sure I get a new forever home that I can explore a lot. She knows me like the back of her hand and knows that I can't go back to boarding because its too stressful. She says she wouldn't put me through that, but that I need to have a new home, otherwise it won't be good for me. She says I deserve a great life, not a stressful unwanted dog life. So my only option is to get a new home, fast. Mom says she will work with someone however she needs to, to save my life. I'm a big boy, 85-90 pounds, my dog mom and dad were a Greyhound and maybe a Great Dane or Boxer. My mom loves me a lot and realizes she is going to have to make a very hard decision if no one can help me. She is willing to do whatever she can to save me or at least buy me some time. She even said, if I need to go on a road trip to my new home, she will make it happen! My brothers and sisters were all adopted to good moms and dads from the beginning, so they are happy dogs. It makes me very sad and confused why I got the short end of the stick. Please save me so I can live a good rest of my life. I'd be so happy in a home that I was the only child with humans that were just as energetic as me! I want to finish on a good note and hopefully forget about the rough 4 years I've had so far. My time is running out. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Greyhound in Michigan
Greyhound Dogs can make good pets in Michigan if they match your IifestyIe. The Greyhound is a reserved, elegant, intelligent breed. Greyhounds are gentle, sweet companions that can be a joy to own. Greyhounds are excellent choices for adoption as adults; former racers are already crate trained and easy to housebreak, and this dog adapts well to new owners. Greyhounds have a strong chasing instinct and should not typically be trusted with non-canine animals. Greyhounds do well with older, considerate children. They do not like to be teased. A Greyhound can live in an apartment and may even behave lazily indoors, but does need daily exercise. Greyhounds are sensitive to extreme cold and should wear a coat outside in the winter.
