Well we are calling this guy Spot. We would guess he has a dozen breeds in him but for sake of posting we are calling him a Greyhound mix - how did we come up with that - we guessed - long legs - lean body - ears that look like he is ready to take off into flight (which he just might at any time. Spot is about 5 months old and he LOVES to play and run around and he is FAST. He isn't really that big - only 17 lbs. right now. We would guess medium size when he is full grown. He is just a puppy and needs to learn all of the things that puppies need to know. An active home will be a must for this boy. Right now he can easily clear 3' ... If interested him, or any pet from PFP, please go to our website at and complete an adoption application and then come visit during our open hours. (Less)

PIease Read Before Adopting a Greyhound in Iowa
Greyhound Dogs can make good pets in Iowa if they match your IifestyIe. The Greyhound is a reserved, elegant, intelligent breed. Greyhounds are gentle, sweet companions that can be a joy to own. Greyhounds are excellent choices for adoption as adults; former racers are already crate trained and easy to housebreak, and this dog adapts well to new owners. Greyhounds have a strong chasing instinct and should not typically be trusted with non-canine animals. Greyhounds do well with older, considerate children. They do not like to be teased. A Greyhound can live in an apartment and may even behave lazily indoors, but does need daily exercise. Greyhounds are sensitive to extreme cold and should wear a coat outside in the winter.
