Rescue Me ID: 18-04-08-00416Duke (male)

Greyhound    Age: Young Adult

Health: Neutered, Vaccinations Current

This is a courtesy post. Duke is being rehomed by his owner, who states: 'My dog is very loving and loyal. He love to play as well. He needs a lot of attention. He is apprehensive when meeting new people but he adapts and has not bitten anyone. He takes alot of care as well. Duke is diabetic. He is on insulin and a special diet. He has anxiety issues as well. He is up to date on immunizations, chipped and neutered. I don't want to put him down. He needs a good home, with a small yard. I hate doing this, but I cannot financially do it. He is my first dog that I got when I was 52. He doesnt like to be alone and I cannot give him what he ... (Read More)needs. Rescue Me ID: 17-10-04-00280Duchess (female)

Greyhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Personality: Average Energy, Average Temperament
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current

Duke and Duchess were brought in together. They didn't seem to have a great previous life. They appear to be brother and sister. Some of the paperwork says they are part Greyhound, but they are definitely German Shepherd mixes. They appear to be traumatized, I don't know if the owners or maybe the neighbors threw things at them, but they are scared. They are progressing slowly but surely,, but they need time and a lot of love to let them know people can be good. These kids are 3 years old and have a whole life of love to give to their new family. They are great with other dogs, should be great with all children but toddlers need to be ... (Read More)watched so they don't corner and scare them Please give these two kids a home together, we would love to see them go to a home together. They are located in a foster home in south east Arizona, however, their foster mom can meet in Tucson on Saturdays for meet and greets if that is more convenient. 602-316-8919 (no texts please) (Less)

Greyhound Mix    Age: Young Adult

Compatibility: Good w/ Most Dogs, Not Good w/ Cats, Good w/ Kids and Adults
Personality: Average Energy, Very Submissive
Health: Spayed, Vaccinations Current, Abused/Neglected

My name is Dakota. I am a medium sized dog that weighs about 50 pounds. I would love my own forever home. I need to meet that special person who sees me, falls in love with me, and can deal with some minor health issues I have. The rescue that takes care of me will help with future medical bills if there are any. I just need a home of my own, and someone who has plenty of patience and love. I LOVE to be with people and I do great on a leash. I love kids and love everyone I meet! If you think you would like to meet me, please call or email today.

PIease Read Before Adopting a Greyhound in Arizona
Greyhound Dogs can make good pets in Arizona if they match your IifestyIe. The Greyhound is a reserved, elegant, intelligent breed. Greyhounds are gentle, sweet companions that can be a joy to own. Greyhounds are excellent choices for adoption as adults; former racers are already crate trained and easy to housebreak, and this dog adapts well to new owners. Greyhounds have a strong chasing instinct and should not typically be trusted with non-canine animals. Greyhounds do well with older, considerate children. They do not like to be teased. A Greyhound can live in an apartment and may even behave lazily indoors, but does need daily exercise. Greyhounds are sensitive to extreme cold and should wear a coat outside in the winter.
